1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in the Mental Health First Aid Course provided by TAPTA. By registering for this course, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Course Description

The Mental Health First Aid Course is designed to teach participants how to identify, understand, and help a person who may be developing a mental health issue. In this course, you will learn about common mental health challenges for adults, and strategies for helping someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations.

3. Registration

Participants must register through the official registration link provided by TAPTA.

Full payment is required to secure a place in the course.

Participants must ensure that their registration information is accurate and updated.

4. Fees and Payments

The course fee includes all necessary materials, instruction, and certification.

Payments can be made via specified acceptable payment methods.

All fees are non-refundable, except as specified in the cancellation policy.

5. Cancellation and Change of Date Policy

Participants can cancel their enrollment up to 14 days before the course start date. In such cases, a refund will be provided minus a cancellation fee of 10%.

Cancellations made less than 14 days before the course start date will not be eligible for a refund.

Participants may request to change the date of their course up to 7 days prior to the originally scheduled date, subject to availability. Such changes may incur a rescheduling fee.

TAPTA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the course due to unforeseen circumstances. In such an event, participants will be notified and offered a full refund or transfer to a future course date.

6. Nomination of Substitute Participant

If a registered participant is unable to attend, they may nominate another individual to attend in their place.

The nominated substitute will not be able to acquire a MHFA certificate on behalf of the registered participant but will be able to gain accreditation for themselves.

Substitution requests must be made in writing at least 5 days before the course start date unless the substitution occurs due to extenuating circumstances.

The substitute participant must meet all course requirements and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

7. Weekend and Public Holiday Training Policy:

TAPTA occasionally offers courses on weekends and public holidays. These sessions are subject to special terms and conditions that differ slightly from those applicable to weekday courses:

  • Fixed Booking: Once a booking is made for a weekend or public holiday course, it cannot be transferred to another day. Any changes to the original booking are not permitted.
  • No Refunds: Refunds are not available once a booking has been completed for these special sessions.
  • Punctuality: Courses will commence strictly at the time specified in the booking confirmation email. Participants arriving late will not be granted entry into the course and will not be eligible for a refund. To ensure timely participation, participants are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the course.
  • Identification Required: Participants must present a current photo ID (such as an Immicard, Driver’s License, Proof of Age, or Passport) at the time of the course. Failure to present proper identification will result in exclusion from the training session without a refund.
